About me
I’m Maria-Andreea and “Madeea” is a play on my first and middle name. I’ve always liked stories, reading and writing. I love travelling, dancing, painting and food. Yes, I know the last one is not a verb but I like both cooking and eating, so, you know, food 😀
I live in Bucharest, Romania and my writing might be influenced by my language, culture and way of life. I have a little sister, I live with my boyfriend and my family has a dog and a turtle as pets.
About the blog
This blog is partly about travel. You might also find some random articles along the way – as a creative person my mind skips from one thing to the other so expect some blabbering “bumbling band of baboons” (thank you, Professor Minerva McGonagall!). I might also write some short book reviews or impressions here and there as well as recommendations for books, movies, tv-series or other content creators.
Now about the travel part: I know you’re thinking “everyone is now a travel blogger and when will this ever end?!?”. What might make my blog different is that it’s going to be much more personal and subjective, as most articles will simply be written from memory, so don’t expect a lot of facts, details or specific information. I won’t be telling you how much a subway ticket costs in Barcelona or how much a meal costs in Brussels.
The reason for that is simple: I don’t remember. And unlike other travelers, I don’t keep a log of my journeys. The only things I have as reminders are photos I’ve taken and maps. So, if you happen to stumble upon specific info here it’s only because of my supercalifragilistic memory or more likely because the trip happened more recently. The purpose is not to inform you but to give you an incentive and some inspiration for your future trips. Therefore, expect not facts, but stories about my travel experiences. I do hope you’ll enjoy them nevertheless.
Some quotes I love, just because 🙂
Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.
Oscar Wilde
It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.

All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.
